Actis Design Launches Latest Version of SystemC Analysis Software

User-Driven Features Include Enhanced API, Automatic Rule Generation

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 12, 2006-- Actis Design, LLC, the leader in SystemC analysis, today announced immediate availability of the latest version of AccurateC static C++ code analyzer for SystemC, the first software tool used in the SystemC code development flow.

Used to analyze SystemC code prior to compilation, simulation or synthesis, AccurateC 2.6 offers an enhanced C++ Application Programming Interface (API), giving designers the means to quickly perform their own customized analysis of SystemC source code.  It extends the existing API to allow access to internal design data in terms of SystemC constructs, such as modules, processes, variables, interfaces and signals.

AccurateC's Rule Wizard function has been improved to ease automatic rule generation. New rules have been added to support a SystemC methodology and simulation environment, all driven by customer input.  These include rules for array out of bounds checks, virtual function usage and improved variable usage checks.  Additional rules are available also for the Forte Design Systems Cynthesizer ruleset.

"Enhancements to AccurateC are all user-driven improvements based on inputs from our customers in Japan and Europe ," says Joan Bartlett, president of Actis Design.  "They greatly improve the usability and capabilities of AccurateC for real-world SystemC development and offer Actis a key competitive advantage."

AccurateC combines C++ syntax checking with SystemC semantics checking to efficiently identify coding problems prior to simulation and synthesis.  Design iterations are reduced with customizable, pre-compilation analysis.  The Code Consultant feature provides a detailed description and recommended action for every rule violation, greatly shortening the learning curve for SystemC.  Experienced engineers can capture and share their knowledge through the Export/Import Environment feature.  The powerful C++ API provides in-depth control of the analysis process; users can quickly and accurately generate unique analysis functions to simplify debug and assure quality of results.

Pricing and Availability

AccurateC is shipping and supports Sun Microsystems and Linux operating systems.  Pricing ranges from $9,000 to $30,000, depending on configuration, for a one-year technology subscription license (TSL).
